Civil Servant| SirHenry Monck-Mason Moore GCMG, KStJ(1887 - 1964), was British Governor of Sierra Leone, Kenyaand Ceylon.
The son of Rev.
Edward William Moore, he was educated at King's College Schooland Jesus College, Cambridge, graduating in 1909. He married Daphne, daughter of William John Bensonin 1921.
World War I, he was a Lieutenant in the Royal Garrison Artillerybased in Salonikafrom 1916 to 1919.
After serving as
Governor of Sierra Leonefrom 1934 to 1937, he joined the Colonial Department in Londonas Assistant Under Secretary of State from 1937 to 1939 and Deputy Under Secretary of Statefrom 1939 to 1940.
From 1940 to 1944, he was
Governor of Kenyaand then from 1944 to 1948 he was Governor of Ceylon. After the independence of Ceylonin 1948, he served as Governor General until 1950.
