Foon Yew High School (zh-stp |s=宽柔中学 |t=寬柔中學 |p=kuān róu zhōng xué) is a famous Chinese independent high school in Malaysia. It is the only chinese independent high school which has two campuses, one in Stulang Laut, one in Kulai. Foon Yew High School is famous for its diverse extracurricular activities, experienced teachers and its quality of education. The current principal is Phang Lun. Foon Yew High School has two semesters each year. An academic year begins in January, with an approximately two weeks holiday in June, and ends in the beginning of November.

Introduction

Foon Yew High School is the largest Chinese independent high school in Malaysia. The main school, with its 13 acre campus, is located in Stulang Laut, Johor Bahru while its Kulai branch school, with its 30 acre campus, is located in Taman Indahpura, Kulai .The school holds the record of having the most students among the Chinese independent high schools in Malaysia. Foon Yew High School is coined according a quote in in the Doctrine of the Mean. History

*In May 18, 1913, Foon Yew High School was founded by Huang Xichu (zh-cp |c=黄羲初 |p=huáng xī chū), Luo Yusheng (zh-stp |s=骆雨生 |t=駱雨生 |p=luò yǔ shēng), Zheng Yaji (zh-stp |s=郑亚吉 |t=鄭亞吉 |p=zhèng yǎ jí) and Chen Yingxiang (zh-stp |s=陈迎祥 |t=陳迎祥 |p=chén yíng xiáng).
*During World War II, the school suffered heavy destruction and the school was forced to close down.
*After World War II, the school was re-constructed by Shi Liandui (zh-stp |s=史联对 |t=史聯對 |p=shǐ lián duì).
*In 1951, the school was moved to the current address.
*In 1963, the number of students had reached 1500.
*In 1980, the school implemented the entrance examination for new students. There were over 4000 students in the school by that time.
*In 2005, the branch school, Foon Yew-Kulai High School, in Kulai, Johor was opened officially.
