Sharon Rene Brown (born January 1, 1943) is Miss USA 1961.

After winning the Miss Louisiana USA crown, Brown, from Minden, Louisiana went on to become Louisiana's second representative to achieve the title of Miss USA. She was eighteen years old at the time [ [http://www.jimmyspageantpage.com/usa_hometowns.html Miss USA—Hometowns of the Winners ] ] . She also won the Miss Photogenic Award. She went on to place as fourth runner up in Miss Universe 1961.

Sharon was originally from rural Waterproof in southern Tensas Parish in eastern Louisiana. She had moved to Minden, the seat of Webster Parish, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Brown, and her twin brothers, Gary and Lary Brown (born 1948). Roy Brown (1921-1978) is interred in the Minden Cemetery. Sharon Brown attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, the seat of Lincoln Parish. She had previously won the title of Miss Waterproof 1961 and was also Miss Louisiana Tech that year. She was a freshman at Louisiana Tech during the 1960-1961 school year. She had been a high school cheerleader from 1958-1960.
