Eddie Baker (Mark Edward Baker) started his musical career in Indianapolis Indiana during his early years, and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1971.

Early years

His early projects include several bands from the Tempe and Scottsdale areas. One performance in Tempe, Arizona featured a traveling blues guitarist from Texas, who was on his way to LA in his camper/truck. The event occurred on the streets of Tempe while the Van Buren bridge into Phoenix was closed for the event. An estimated 15,000 people were in attendance throughout the day long event. Steve, Ross, Eddie, and an unnamed drummer performed several blues songs on the main stage during the Tempe festival to a very receptive crowd. His other works involved Hans Olsen, Jack Alves, Ross Boyle, Hank Cookenboo, and Wonderful Russ Shaw.

Eddie served as TV campaign manager for Wonderful Russ, a local Phoenix personality, which he shared with Bob Bell, of The Razz Revue and True West Magazine, during Russ' write-in run for Governor for the state of Arizona in 1974 and was covered in the "Razz Revue", a publication local to the area in Volume 2, Issue 1. Eddie arranged several interviews on broadcast television stations in the Phoenix area for Russ, during his campaign for Governor. Baker also produced several commercials for TV and Radio (KDKB) during his association with Russ. Stanley Brown, who was a close friend during this time, mixed stage sound at the Celebrity Theater and is reported to have worked with him on some recording projects.

Following Years

Baker later moved to Newport Rhode Island, New York, and Massachusetts. in the years that followed. He worked on the set of "School Ties" as an uncredited actor, and has acted in other various commercials as well as contributing as cinematographer and editor for "The Naked Truth", a local cable show.

His more recent musical projects include Paradox, the band, with two releases on indie labels; "Time" and "Limited Edition". He has also helped local musicians gain coverage with Barbwires,^[1] his streaming video web site. He was a founding member of "Radiostorm",^[2] another music streaming web site. Baker cites "Taj Mahal" as a strong musical influence, during his early teens, and was delighted sitting with Taj backstage in San Diego after a concert, sharing a bottle of wine and talking music after moving to Phoenix in the early 70's from Indianapolis. Baker's father also influenced the young musician by providing him with promo records from an Indianapolis radio station, with guitarists such as Peter Green and his father's friend Wes Montgomery.
