Misc = "Irish Son" is a pop song written by Guy Chambers and Brian McFadden, produced by Chambers and Paul Stacey for McFadden's first solo album "Irish Son" (2004). It was released as the album's second single in the UK on November 22, 2004 as a CD single and digital download.

The song was released in late 2004 to a much highly anticipted build up after the success of his time in boyband Westlife and the success of his first single. However, the launch of the song was marred by controversy when many radio stations and music channels banned his song and the accompanying video due to the song's lyrical content and the bad reflection focued on CBS schools in Ireland. Elton John slammed the "Irish Son" single when he reviewed the latest tracks in Time Out. He said the song was "just horrible".

With all the bad press Brian and the song were receiving at the time, the song failed to become his second number-one in the UK and went in at number six.
