Pentecostal Church of New Zealand

The Pentecostal Church of New Zealand, today called the Elim Church of New Zealand is a historical Pentecostal denomination in New Zealand.

The Pentecostal Church of New Zealand began with the revivals of Smith Wigglesworth in the early 1920s. But it passed by a deep crisis about church governance, British Israelism doctrines, and other disputes that lead to its fragmentation, emerging the Assemblies of God in New Zealand, the Apostolic Church, the Christian Revival Crusade, the Revival Fire Mission of Healing, the New Life Churches, New Zealand and many other independent congregations.

The remaining of the PCNZ gathered and in 1953 sought affiliation with the Elim Pentecostal Church of the UK, and has since then experienced a remarkable growth.

Today (2007) it has 60 congregations and it is member of the Associated Pentecostal Churches of New Zealand.
