IMLP is a growing global initiative which is currently available to hired employees from all GE businesses, including:

Program Description

The Information Management Leadership Program (IMLP) is designed to develop GE's next generation of leaders in the Information Management. The program focuses on developing solid leadership, communication and project management skills. The program provides a strong technical foundation, breadth and depth across technologies, and business functional knowledge. Through IMLP, high-achieving graduates make a smooth, accelerated transition from college to business and are deemed to be high potentials within the organization. The two-year program consists of four six-month rotational assignments that cut across different aspects of GE business, cut across various projects, teams, managers, and potentially locations. In addition, IMLP's receive formal coursework in advanced information technology and systems during two four-week GE boot camps along with many other educational workshops. IMLP's are considered to be high talent, internal consultants that tackle complex issues within a short time frame. On occasion members of the internal consulting team graduate the two year program with a green or black belt in Lean Six Sigma Business Excellence methodologies.

Goals & Objectives

The program aims to develop strong technical and project management skills through on-the-job training in business dynamics, career strategies, communication techniques, problem solving, decision making and project leadership. IMLP's should gain a solid understanding of GE products, business and industry. In addition, learning how to establish priorities, goals, and measurements consistent with the GE vision is paramount to the success of the program.
