This timeline is coded with words in parentheses. Key events in the Weimar republic have the words "key event in the Weimar republic" in parenthesis at the end of the sentence. Events solely pertaining to Adolf Hitler have the words "event solely pertaining to Adolf Hitler". Events relating to the Nazi Party and its predecessors have the words "event relating to the Nazi Party and its predecessors". Particularly important international events are bolded and also have the words "particularly important international event". Some events have the word "blue" in parenthesis, but it is not clear what this means.
