The American Classic Races consist of:
Kentucky Derbyat Churchill Downsin Louisville, Kentuckyheld annually on the first Saturday of May;
Preakness Stakesat Pimlico Race Coursein Baltimore, Marylandheld annually in May on the Saturday two weeks after the Kentucky Derby;
Belmont Stakesat Belmont Parkin Elmont, New Yorkheld annually in June on the Saturday three weeks after the Preakness Stakes.
The three American Classic Races are collectively known as the U.S. Triple Crown. Only 11 horses have ever won all three races.
