The cultivar 'Planeroides' was described by Carrière in "Revue Hort." 1875: 287, "fig. 48", 1875, but identified as "possibly "Ulmus carpinifolia (: minor)" by Green Green, P. S. (1964). Registration of cultivar names in Ulmus. "Arnoldia", Vol. 24. Arnold Arboretum, Harvard University] .
