Antonio de Carlo

Antonio De Carlo, born birth date and age|1967|8|4 in Tijuana to Leo and Maria de la Luz, is a Mexican actor also known simply as Antonio. He won an Emmy Award in 2006. He's a proud father of three daughters and one son, Alexa, Giovanna, Natasha and Gianfranco.

Education

In 1988 De Carlo received a B.A. degree in music from the Mexican National Music Conservatory. He was a member of the Teacher’s Bar of Graduates in México City between 1995 and 1997. He also collaborated with the Foundation of Social Investigations FISAC between 1998 and 1999.

Professional career

Antonio De Carlo has achieved success in several fields, television, theatre and music being the most prominent.

Antonio De Carlo has acted in various Mexican television soap operas including “Mi Pequeña Soledad”, “Imperio de Cristal”, “Marisol”, and “La Usurpadora” among others; in film he appeared alongside known Mexican singer/actress Alejandra Guzman, and actors Omar Fierro and Sebastian Ligarde in the Mexican movie Verano Peligroso (Dangerous Summer).

In theatre he has participated in various plays including “Sugar” (1993), “La Dama de las Camelias” (1997), “En Roma el Amor es Broma” (1999) and “Zarzuelas Under The Stars” (2004).

Since 2002 he has been the President of the theatrical organization Latino Hollywood Theatre, which promotes plays dealing with Latino culture.

In 2003 De Carlo released an independent album titled “Despues del Silencio” (After the Silence). This album includes hits such as “La Otra España”, “Por Creer en Ti”, “Alma Llanera”, and the 1989 hit “En Mil Pedazos”.

He has received multiple recognition and awards such as "The Golden Sun" (Sol de Oro), The "Golden Palms" (Palmas de Oro), given by the Mexican National Circle of Journalists. He was awarded the Spanish Golden Laurel (Laurel de Oro) by the Same Out Group and the national award for public speaking in 1997 by Miguel Cornejo and Rosado. He is also included in the walk of fame in Tijuana’s International Airport.

De Carlo won his Emmy Award in 2006 as Hispanic News Anchor in the category of "Informational/Public Affairs Series" [ [http://www.emmys.org/media/releases/2006/rel_laarea_winners.php Emmy Award] ] and in the same year founded the Academia De Artes Antonio De Carlo (Hispanic Academy of Arts) in Los Angeles, California.

Since February 2007 he has been teaching music, singing and acting classes to a special group of tennagers with Down Syndrome, Autism and West Syndrome, this classes has been helping this kids in the develop of better social and language skills. He don't charge for this.
