Gomti Nagar (Hindi: गोमती नगर, Urdu: گومتی نگر) is an area in North Indian city of Lucknow consisting of both residential and business settlements. Origin of name

It is situated on the banks of river Gomti, which flows through Lucknow, hence its name.

Gomti Nagar is now developing as the commercial and IT hub of mainland Lucknow. Till now the Central Lucknow consisting of Hazratganj, Vidhan Sabha Marg & Ashok Marg was the main commercial area. Gomti Nagar is divided into various sectors known as "Khands" and name of all "Khands" start with letter "V".Lucknow's prime business establishments and offices are situated in Gomti Nagar. It has a Five Star hotel - Taj Residency and a mid range hotel, Comfort Inn. Three shopping malls cum multiplexes (Wave, Fun Republic & Pyramid) are situated in Gomti Nagar.
