George Ian Boyd (born 2 October 1985 in Chatham, England) is an English footballer, currently playing for Peterborough United as a left winger. He was affectionately known to Stevenage Borough fans as 'the White Pelé' and since his recent move to Peterborough, that name still stands even with his new club. Boyd's early football was played in the Medway Towns, beginning with Bredhurst Boys before stepping up to the county level playing for Chatham Town in the Kent League. George and his cabbie father support Crystal Palace however this did not stop George playing for Charlton Academy up until the age of 16.

Boyd joined Peterborough on January 8, 2007 for a Conference-record transfer fee of £260,000 from Stevenage Borough,cite news

Boyd scored his first goal for Peterborough in the Football League Two fixture against Wrexham on February 10, 2007, a game which Peterborough went on to win 3-0.
