- Shortepa District
Shortepa (also Shor Tappeh, population 36,000) is a small district in
Balkh Province, Afghanistan. It is situated along the Amu Daryariver, close to the border with Uzbekistan. The main village is Shor Tappeh (coord|37.3361|N|66.8200|E|) at 274 m altitude.
