Wang Sombun ( _th. วังสมบูรณ์) is a district ("Amphoe") in the southwestern part of Sa Kaeo Province, eastern Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) Wang Nam Yen and Khlong Hat of Sa Kaeo Province, Soi Dao and Kaeng Hang Maeo of Chanthaburi Province, and Tha Takiap of Chachoengsao Province.

History

The minor district ("King Amphoe") was established July 1 1997 with three "tambon" split from Wang Nam Yen district [cite journal|journal=Royal Gazette|volume=114|issue=Special 51 ง|pages=21|title=ประกาศกระทรวงมหาดไทย เรื่อง แบ่งเขตท้องที่อำเภอวังน้ำเย็น จังหวัดสระแก้ว ตั้งเป็นกิ่งอำเภอวังสมบูรณ์|url=http://www.ratchakitcha.soc.go.th/DATA/PDF/2540/E/051/21.PDF|date=June 25 1997|language=Thai] .

Following a decision of the Thai government on May 15 2007, all of the 81 minor districts were to be upgraded to full districts [cite news|url=http://www.manager.co.th/Politics/ViewNews.aspx?NewsID=9500000055625|publisher=Manager Online|title=แถลงผลการประชุม ครม. ประจำวันที่ 15 พ.ค. 2550|language=Thai] . Administration

The district is subdivided into 3 subdistricts ("tambon"), which are further subdivided into 48 villages ("muban"). Wang Sombun is a township ("thesaban tambon") which covers the whole "tambon" Wang Sombun. There are further 2 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
