- Santa Clara River Valley
The Santa Clara River Valley, also known as the Heritage Valley, is a rural region of eastern
Ventura County, Californiaand northwest Los Angeles County, Californiathat is named for the Santa Clara Riverwhich winds through the valley before emptying into the Pacific Oceanbetween the cities of Oxnardand Ventura. It is primarily an agricultural region, but is also home to a collection of small towns including Fillmore and Santa Paula.
The valley is bordered by
Santa Susana Mountainsto the south, and Los Padres National Forestand Sespe Condor Sanctuaryto the north. The valley stretches to Los Angeles Countyto the east, bordering with northern Santa Clarita Valleyat the junction of Interstate 5 and State Route 126. The Oxnard Plainis to the southwest. Santa Clara River begins above the Santa Clarita Valley, runs through the Santa Clara River Valley and to the Oxnard Plain where it empties into the Pacific Ocean.
