Pulse Rated is a radio station based in Salhouse in Norfolk, UK. The station was previously known as Pulse Unsigned, and changed to Pulse Rated in Autumn 2005. The station is owned by Pulse Global.

Pulse Rated plays a wide range of music from new, unsigned, and emerging artists.

tation overview

Pulse Rated was formed in 2003 with the mission of promoting music by unsigned artists within the recording industry. With the realisation that the majority of visitors to the website were fans rather than industry figures, the website was re-launched to cater for that audience and satellite radio broadcasts started on Sky Digital in the UK in late 2004.

Pulse Rated ceased broadcasting on Sky Digital on 6 February 2007. The company decided after months of deliberation and mounting debts that the needs of their audience are better targeted by internet broadcasting.

Pulse Rated has spent the last two years developing its offering of internet radio, website and music rights ownership so that it can now give musicians a viable alternative to the established music industry whilst also providing the iPod generation with an alternative listening and buying experience.

Pulse Rated’s impact on radio broadcasting was demonstrated by their nomination in the ‘Best Radio Station’ category at the BT Digital Music Awards 2006.

The station was also an official media partner for Oxfam's first ever Oxjam event in 2006 - the UK’s largest music festival.

Pulse Rated's impact on the industry is shown by the signing in 2006 of at least 10 artists to major recording deals, including: Leona Lewis (the 2006 winner of ITV reality show, The X Factor), Leeann Akers (Universal), Mickey Avalon (Interscope), Casino (Universal) and Shwayze (Suretone/Geffen Records).

Pulse Rated went into liquidation after many months of financial issues in Fall 2007.
