Nathan Micklos (born August 5, 1983 in Palatine, Illinois) is a striker formerly playing for American USL Second Division side Cincinnati Kings. Micklos began his professional career in 2006 with the Virginia Beach Mariners after being selected third overall in the USL First Division Draft.[1] Prior to his pro career Micklos played for the Indiana Invaders, USL Premier Development League team during the 2004 season. Led team in scoring with 8 goals and 16 assists.

Micklos graduated from the University of Rochester in 2006. He was a record-setting goalscorer for the University of Rochester. In four seasons, he totaled 57 goals and 26 assists for 140 points. He holds the record for total points and goals as well as most goals in a season (20). He won All-America honors in three consecutive seasons (sophomore through senior year). As a senior in 2005, he had 15 goals and 10 assists for 40 points. He was selected as the University Athletic Association's Player of the Year as a junior and senior. Rochester compiled a 16-0-0 regular season record and set a school record for most victories in his senior season.

Away from the field, Micklos was chosen as the ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-American of the Year in 2005 as selected by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. He was a Second Team Academic All-American as a junior, First Team Academic All-American as a senior. He was also named a First Team Scholar All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

He graduated from the University in December, 2005 with a dual degree in political science and history with a minor in philosophy. He was a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society and the Political Science honors program.

Played for the Chicago Sockers from age U13-U19, team won 5 State Cup Championships, 2 Region II Championships and finished second at USYSA National Championships. Won the Dallas Cup at age 16 with teammates and current MLS players Mike Magee and Brian Plotkin.

Graduated in class of '02 from William Fremd High School in Palatine, IL.
