Canaan Ngandu (b. c. 1972) is a
A native of
Goromonzi, Ngandu was the second child in a family of eight. He was raised by his grandmother in various townships, first in Mufakoseand later in Chitungwiza. His ancestral home is in Chiweshe.
Ngandu began drawing in school, reaching
secondary schoolbefore becoming a sculpture. Although untutored, he has said that he learned his trade from watching Kennedy Migeriand Moses Masayaat work in their studios.
