Whitchurch & Tongwynlais

Whitchurch & Tongwynlais ( _cy. Yr Eglwys Newydd a Thongwynlais) is an electoral ward of Cardiff, Wales. It covers some or all of the following areas: Coryton, Tongwynlais and Whitchurch in the parliamentary constituency of Cardiff North. It is bounded by Caerphilly county borough to the north; Rhiwbina and Heath to the east; Llandaff North to the south; and Radyr and Pentyrch to the west. As of 2008, Conservertives have all the council seats in Whitchurch and Tongwynlais following their 2007 election victory in Cardiff North overturning a very small Labour majority with a gain of around 8000 votes over 2003. As a mainly middle class suburb, the area is natural Conservative territory.

Whitchurch & Tongwynlais is in the Cardiff North constituency for the National Assembly for Wales, currently represented by Jonathan Morgan AM, a member of the Conservative Party

Westminster

Cardiff North is currently represented by Julie Morgan MP a member of the Labour Party. She is married to the First Minister of Wales, Rhodri Morgan, and actively maintains a weblog.
