Patkai Christian College

Patkai Christian College is a college of higher education in Dimapur-Chumukedima that is the institution rated highest by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in the state of Nagaland, out of 11 colleges recognised by the University Grants Commission of India. It was rated as B++.

Patkai as a Christian liberal college firmly believes that education is for the whole man in a framework of moral absolutes.Every Christan college, therefore, has the difficult task of retaining its traditional stance while seeking to make its educational philosophy relevant to the world around it. The central purpose of the College is expressed in its motto: "Lux et veritas : Light and Truth."This purpose produces a concern for truth, righteousness and beauty.

HISTORY OF PATKAI:Patkai was born out ot the prayers of Christians in Nagaland, Manipur, and overseas. Patkai, of which the Nagaland Baptist Church Concil and Manipur Baptist Convention are major sponsors, was started in August 1974 with twenty students. However, the College is not a denominational institution, .Hence the College receives financial assistance from several Christian denominational churches as well as independent churches and organizations. In the fall of 1975 Patkai was provisionally affiliated to the North Eastern Hill University, Shillong.
