Kildangan ("Cill Daingin " in Irish) is a village in County Kildare in Ireland. The village of 570 people lies close to the flood plane of the River Barrow, near the County Laois border.

Kildangan is home to the world famous Kildangan Stud, which was founded by the More O'Ferrells, on the site of Kildangan Castle. The grounds of the Stud contain a variety of rare ornamental trees and shrubs, and an abundance of woodland. Kildangan Stud was sold in 1986 to The Maktoum family, who invested large amounts of money to make Kildangan Stud one the leading stud farms in Europe.

Population

Between 1996 and 2006 there was a 100% increase in population as the M7 motorway opened up Kildangan for housing development. Kildangan is approximately 60 km from Dublin, and the majority of the population increase is of commuters employed in Dublin City and the surrounding area. Bord na Móna is the main industry in the immediate area, with Kildangan Stud also providing employment.
