The Andover swim team was led to 15 state championships (nine boys, six girls) by legendary head coach Mike Lane from when the team started in 1967 until the late 90s. The team also has had hundreds of all-American swimming and academic winners and for a few years held a national high school record in a relay event. During the 8 year championship run, many county, league, state, and national records were broken, with several still standing to this day. Alumni have gone on to swim for IVY league, Big 10, Pac 10, and other schools.
