Marta Katarzyna Wiktoria Wiśniewska a.k.a. Mandaryna, born in Łódź 12 March 1978 as Marta Mandrykiewicz is a Polish singer, dancer and actress.

Career

In 2000 Marta became the dancer and choreographer of Ich Troje, then highly popular Polish pop group. In 2004 she had a hit with the song "Here I Go Again", a cover version of a Whitesnake song, this time produced by Groove Coverage. Later in the summer her debut album was released, entitled Mandaryna.com. It sold well and went Gold in Poland - then it was released in Germany in Austria (where it was a big success). In 2005 Mandaryna took part in Sopot Festival 2005, performing live her new song "Ev'ry Night". That performance caused wide controversies and Mandaryna was accused of having small vocal talent. However, "Ev'ry Night" became a massive hit in Poland. It was included on her second album, Mandarynkowy sen. The record also contained a cover of Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name" and had 3-D cover. It was released in Poland, the USA, Germany, Italy, Lithuania and Indonesia.

In 2006 Mandaryna released her next single "Stay Together" and started to work on her third studio album. The following year she recorded a new song, "Heaven". It was proclaimed as plagiarism of Madonna's "Jump". The release of her album Mandaryna4You was scheduled to January 2008, but due to conflict between Mandaryna, her manager Katarzyna Kanclerz and music producer Marek Sośnicki it was cancelled. She made a band, where her dancers where singing (2be3). She became their manager. They recorded cover of "Step by Step" and videoclip but it did not receive airplay in TV nor radio. The band was dissoluted. She returned in 2009 with the album AOK, promoted by a semi-successful single "Good dog, bad dog". Even though it was released in Poland, Germany and Lithuania it was not a big success due to a small promotion of the album.

In September 2010 she announced that she's working on her next studio album which will be probably released in January/February 2011. It's going to be in style of her first albums.

Private life

Mandaryna was married to Michał Wiśniewski, the lead singer of the Polish pop group Ich Troje. She has two children with Michał, Xavier Michał (born 24 June 2002) and Fabienne Marta (born 21 August 2003), both born in Warsaw.

She's with Wojtek Bąkiewicz, polish Playboy/CKM photographer.
