Central Private School is a private institution of learning located in Central, Louisiana. It is one of several private schools located in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. Most private schools in Louisiana belong to the MPSA (Mississippi Private School Association).

Faculty

tudent body

The students at Central Private come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. While the majority of students are racially white, the student body is also made up of a small minority of other ethnic backgrounds. The school enrolls students from throughout East Baton Rouge Parish, and surrounding areas.

Athletics

The school left the Louisiana Independent School Association in 1992, and has since then been a member of the Mississippi Private School Association [ [http://www.mpsa.org/default2.php MPSA Home Page ] ] .

Baseball - Participating in the MPSA, the Rebels have a total of 10 state championships since the schools opening in 1971. Most recent the baseball team won the state championship in 2007 against Simpson Academy of Mendenhall, MS. Central Private won four consecutive state championships in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. The Rebels won four consecutive state championships again in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Football - After finishing 1-9 in 2005, the Rebels turned things around in 2006 with a 7-4 record. They landed a playoff berth and a District Championship (first since 1991). The Rebels lost in the first playoff round to Porters Chapel
