Adelaide Terrace

Adelaide Terrace

Adelaide Terrace, Perth, is an easterly extension of, the main street in the city of Perth, Western Australia, St Georges Terrace (coord|31|57|30|S|115|52|1|E). It runs parallel to the Swan River and is a major arterial road through the central business district.

Its eastern end is marked by The Causeway, where as at the western end it joins St Georges Terrace at the intersection with Victoria Avenue.

In the late nineteenth century, the southern side was lined by houses and properties of wealthy and powerful people in Western Australia of the time - and it earned the reputation of being the location of some of John Horgan's Six hungry families

By the late twentieth century, there were only a couple of houses from the nineteenth century remaining in the full length of the road.
