Battlefield (series)

The Battlefield franchise is a series of computer and console games that started with the PC/Mac game "Battlefield 1942", the series is developed by EA Digital Illusions CE, and published by Electronic Arts. The games feature a focus on large maps and vehicle warfare over and above traditional first person shooters. The main attraction of the games is their online gameplay and the series had sold 17 million copies in August 2008. Star Wars Battlefront and its sequels were influenced by this series. The series has a recognisable 6-beat sting which is often used in promotional material for the games. Games in the series include:

**"Armored Fury" (Booster Pack), released June 6 2006.

*"Battlefield 2142" - (PC, Mac), was released 17 October, 2006.
