Trivia

*The songwriter holding the dubious distinction of having received the most nominations without an induction is Ronald Belford Bon Scott, former lead singer and songwriter for the Australian Hard Rock group AC/DC. Scott has also managed to consistently maintain a comfortable lead in the public opinion poll categories best songwriter and best vocalist, despite his untimely death in 1980 at the age of 33. It is worth noting that in the July 2004 issue of UK magazine "Classic Rock", Scott was rated as number one of all time in a list of the "100 Greatest Frontmen," beating out every other rock vocalist, including the likes of such celebrated artists as Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen, Queen's Freddie Mercury and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin fame, to name just a few. ["The 100 Greatest Frontmen". "Classic Rock" (July 2004)]
*In 2003, Queen became the first band to be inducted into the hall (although each of the members of the Bee Gees was individually inducted).
*The above notwithstanding, the rock band AC/DC was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, [cite web | url = http://www.rockhall.com/inductee/ac-dc | title = AC/DC | work = Rock and Roll Hall of Fame | accessdate = 2008-08-07] with members of late frontman Bon Scott's family joining the band at the podium to accept the honor (being bestowed primarily as a result of Scott's lyrical and vocal talents and contributions to the genre) in his place.
*The first "Starlight Award" winner was Rob Thomas of matchbox twenty. The award was inaugurated in 2004.
