16 April 1948 ) is apublic relations consultant. Franks is aUnited Kingdom -based commentator on women's issues, sustainability, and consumer lifestyles. She has claimed to be the inspiration for the character Edina Monsoon on the television series "Absolutely Fabulous ", having founded her first public relations company at her own kitchen table in 1970 when she was twenty-one.
