Novi Sad Fair (Serbian: Новосадски сајам, Novosadski sajam) is one of the largest fairs in the region. It's located in Novi Sad, Serbia. It is place of one of the largest agricultural fairs in Europe, which visit approx. 600,000 visitors annually and approx. a million visitors during the whole year on many exhibitions and fairs. [1]

Features

Total area of the Fair is 300,000 m²; 240,000 m² of open spaces and 60,000 m² indoors. Novi Sad Fair also has a newly built Congress building "Master Centre" of 2,700 m².

Novi Sad Fair is member of The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry,[2] International Congress & Convention Association,[3] The Exhibition Association of Southeast Europe,[4] World-Wide Business Centres Network,[5] and Central European Fair Alliance.[6]

History

Novi Sad was a popular place for traders, and due to its location on the Danube river and on the natural border between Bačka and Syrmia regions, Novi Sad quickly became important trading post for many traders in the 19th century. Novi Sad, being in the most developed agricultural region (Vojvodina) in then Kingdom of Yugoslavia, was home to the first agricultural show in 1923, and from 1930 fair became international.

In 1958, Novi Sad Fair became member of International organization for fairs and gain the reputation as the most important agricultural show in then SFR Yugoslavia. Besides annual agricultural shows, Novi Sad Fair over the years had organized many fairs, in finance, computing, banking, cars, books, medicine and pharmacy, etc.
