Shameem Pathan

Shameem Pathan

Shameem Pathan is a Muslim woman from Ahmedabad, India. She escaped from domestic abuse, braved discrimination and embarked on a career driving a mini-van taxi to support herself and her child.

She now stands as an icon of independence for many women in India who still face domination and discrimination.

A pop video was created which was inspired by her story, sung by the famous Hindustani singer Shubha Mudgal titled "Mann Ke Manjeeré". This won a lot of awards worldwide.
