The Seven Mile Journey are a post-rock band from Denmark. In 2006 The Seven Mile Journey released their promising debut album ”The Journey Studies” at [fono’gram] – agency. The album was recorded at SafeLandings Studios in 2005 and is distributed through VME.

The Seven Mile Journey’s musical universe moves within the postrock genre and the band has since 1999 made instrumental music, which also signifies the debut album ”The Journey Studies”. The album comes across as a unified whole made by dynamic changes and melancholic notes, long and intense passages that invites the listener into absorption.

“Impressive debut from danish postrock-quartet […] The record expresses a genuine ensemble, which throughout the 42 minutes long record with 4 tracks draws the listener through one seductive passage after another” (Gaffa (4 out of 6), Denmark)

One year after the release of “The Journey Studies” it has received great reviews from various music magazines in different countries such as Denmark, Italy, France, USA, Holland, Norway and England. The record has especially been praised for its dynamic, intensity along with blooming creativity.

“To suggest this is the listening experience of the year so far goes without saying. To imply it may be one of the new century’s finest releases is not too outlandish an accusation” (Terrascope, England)

“Masterful musicianship and clever songwriting blissfully commandeer this intense Danish act.” (Editors pick, Smother Magazine, USA)

“The Seven Mile Journey take their time to build up tension and momentum, and what often starts like introverted, solipsistic guitar music will gradually evolve into a dynamic post rock number with tons of drive, as can be witnessed especially on the album's long tracks” (DisAgreement Online, Luxembourg)

Live The Seven Mile Journey presents a musical challenge by moving from dark and gloomy passages to intense and epic majestic soundscapes. Captivating stories are made and told by the band and thereby inviting the listener to become a passenger on a musical journey that succeeds the ordinary.

“The Seven Mile Journeys manically perfectionism has allowed them to give their creature a strong personality extremely sensual in its intriguing repeats of the plots” (Top album, dec 2006. Sensorium, Italy)

The Seven Mile Journey played several concerts throughout 2006 due to the release of their debut album. The Roskilde Festival, Forma Nova, Vesterbro Festival and Way Up North were some of the festivals where the band performed. They also played concerts in Copenhagen, Århus, Aalborg and Berlin.

The band is currently working on new material in preparation to release a follow up full-length album to “The Journey Studies”.

“this Danish quartet comes up strong in its debut album, and hopefully we'll be seeing more from them in the future.” (Decoymusic, USA)
