Megamerinidae is a family of flies (Diptera) with about 11 species in the genera Protexara Yang Megamerina Rondani, and Texara Walker. They are marked by an elongate, basally constricted abdomen. The family is typically placed in the superfamily Diopsoidea[1] (but may be placed in Nerioidea by some authors).

Biology

The immature biology of Megamerinidae is poorly known, but larvae have been recorded as predators living under bark or decaying vegetation.
