Lyrics and Rhythm
* The words "Kiddy-Widdy-Winkies" have the same rhythm as the title of play, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang".
* In an attempt to give the song an "other-worldliness", the Sherman Brothers first wrote the song in the unusual 5/4 signature. That version was eventually adjusted to 3/4 time.
* In 2003 the song was revised by the
Sherman Brothers to bringing it into first person. It was originally sung from a third person point of view. The original, third person version of the lyric can be heard on the original cast recording as performed byRichard O'Brien .
