It is the first school built as part ofBremen Community High School District 228 which also includesTinley Park High School , Hillcrest High School andOak Forest High School . Bremen High School was opened in 1953 along with the creation of BHSD 228 to serve students in the newly developing areas at the time. Bremen High School is named after the township in which it is located, Bremen Township.History
Bremen High School opened in 1953. The staff consisted of 37 teachers and administrators and 732 students. Construction costs for the building was approximately $1,000,000.

Bremen High School was the first school to be built in district 228. The school mainly serve's the communities of Midlothian, Posen, Markham and a small part of Harvey. Bremen High school is also member of the South Suburban Conference.
Athletics
Athletics at Bremen include: Football, Golf, Cross Country, Bowling, Swimming, Volleyball, Tennis, Wrestling, Cheer leading, Track and Field, Soccer, Poms, and Basketball. Bremen also hosts the district water polo team.
