Christian Taylor (screenwriter)

Christian Taylor is an award-winning screenwriter known for his work on the American television drama Six Feet Under. He wrote, directed and starred in the film Showboy which won Best Directorial Debut at the "British Independent Film Awards" and "Best Picture at the Milan International Film Festival". His other credits include the television dramas Miracles and Lost.

Career

The short film "The Lady in Waiting" that Taylor wrote and directed as his thesis film from New York University won the Gold Medal at the Student Academy Awards and then went on to be nominated for the Best Live Action Short Oscar.

His script on the second season of Six Feet Under was nominated for Best Drama by the Writers Guild and his work as a writer-producer was recognized with a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination.

Taylor worked as a freelance writer on the first season of the ABC drama Lost in the 2004–05 television season. Taylor and the writing staff won the Writers Guild of America (WGA) Award for Best Dramatic Series at the February 2006 ceremony for their work on the first and second seasons.^[1]

Taylor co-created the television show New Amsterdam with Allan Loeb. The show was directed by Lasse Hallstrom, and, although critically embraced, was short lived on the FOX.

Taylor has written a theatrical musical based around the music catalogue of the world's top selling pop duo Hall & Oates. He has written a three episode arc for the hit animation show Star Wars: The Clone Wars created by George Lucas. He is writing and directing a mini series for MTV called Valemont, produced by Electric Farm.
