Dreamtrybe

Dreamtrybe, formerly known as Velvet Hammer, is a pagan rock group out of Austin, Texas. It is a collaboration between Lynda Millard and Ginger Doss featuring vocal harmonies, a rock edge and tribal percussion.

Both Millard and Doss write songs for the group. Millard provides the guitar and flute, while Doss plays the keyboards. Former member (from the Velvet Hammer days) Dana Davis also wrote songs, sang and played guitar. Lynda's son Tabber Millard is the current drummer for the group. Previous percussionists include Tawney and Nighthawk, who played on the album "Come Down" and were with the band during the name change from Velvet Hammer to Dreamtrybe. Mitch Watkins and drummer Pat Mastelatto were featured guests on that album.

Ginger Doss has said, "We are sometimes referred as Pagan Rock but do not consider this an accurate description. Many of our lyrics have universal spiritual appeal, and because of this we have played at many different spiritual places -- goddess festivals, pagan gatherings, Unity church, Unitarian Church, women festivals, etc. But we just as often play the usual rock club circuit and consider ourselves a rock band with all types of songs, including spiritual songs, that can appeal to everyone, no matter what their belief."
