Stephen Oldham (born
July 26 ,1948 ) was an Englishcricket er. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler.Oldham spent most of his first-class career with
Yorkshire County Cricket Club , making his debut in the 1974 County Championship, taking 3/7 in an innings victory for the team. He appeared exclusively in the Second XI during 1975, and rejuvenated his first-team career the following year. Oldham was to stay within the Yorkshire first-team until 1979, and moved the following season to Derbyshire.In the 1980 season, Oldham was the batsman with the lowest county average of those who had played ten or more innings during that season, as his team would finish ninth in the table, though he continued in his tailending position for Derbyshire for four more seasons.
In 1984, the tailender moved back to Yorkshire, where, after a season of more consistent batting and fielding, he was to find himself out of the first team. He played two more first-class matches during his career, and rounded off his game with Benson & Hedges Cup action in 1989.
In 1993, the then 45-year-old Oldham played in two games for Yorkshire's Second XI before ending his involvement with the game.
