"Textures" is a metal band from the Netherlands, formed in 2001. They have released three albums to date. The band plays a complex metal style, closely linked with experimental/progressive metal (and bands like Meshuggah), featuring elements of death metal and thrash metal; they also incorporate melodic interludes into their songs. On their first release, "Polars", they also experimented with ambient soundscapes. However, on their second release the ambience and riffs are fused together more closely, rather than set apart on "Polars".
