First District

The first District seat is the smallest of Nevada's Districts and consists of Las Vegas, parts of North Las Vegas and the surrounding unincorporated lands.

The seat is currently held by Shelley Berkley, a Democrat.[1]

Second District

The second District seat was created by the 1980 Census and encompasses the majority of the state, with the entire northern half and most of the south. It includes the state capital, Carson City, as well as the major cities of Reno, Elko, Sparks and Fallon.

Mark Amodei, a Republican and former member of the Nevada Senate, won the seat in a special election on September 13, 2011. It had been vacated by Republican Dean Heller, when Heller was appointed to the U.S. Senate by Governor Brian Sandoval.[2]

Third District

The third District seat, having been created by the 2000 Census, includes some suburbs of Las Vegas, Henderson and other smaller cities and towns.

The congressional seat is currently held by Joe Heck, a Republican.

Fourth District

The Fourth District seat, having been created by the 2010 Census, is the newest of Nevada's congressional Districts. The 2011 state legislative session has the responsibility for creating the boundaries of this district and adjusting the partitions of the other districts.
