Staciana Stitts (born
September 12 ,1981 inColumbus, Ohio ) is abreaststroke swimmer from theUnited States , who won the gold medal in the 100m breaststroke at the 1999 Pan American Games inWinnipeg, Manitoba . She was also a member of the USA national team at the 1998Goodwill Games inNew York , placing second in the 100m breast and was on the gold medal winning 400 medley relay on the breaststroke leg.A resident of

She qualified for the Sydney Olympics after placing second in the 100m breaststroke (1:07.79) at the Olympic Trials inIndianapolis .In 2004, she graduated from
UC Berkeley with a BA degree. From 2005-2006, Stitts-Winfield was an assistant coach at theCollege of Charleston . Stitt's parents, who reside in Encinitas, California are both high school teachers at Carlsbad High School, and she has two brothers, and a sister, Alicia who swam at the
