Banha University is an Egyptian university in the Egyptian city of Banha, the capital of Al Qalyubiyah governorate.

It was established according to a decree in 25 November 1976 as a branch from Zagazig University in Banha, with the faculties of Commerce, Education, Agriculture of Moshtohor, Engineering of Shobra and Medicine.

In 1981-1982, the faculties of Arts, Science of Banha and Veterinary Medicine of Moshtohor were founded. On 1 August 2005 it became an independent university from Zagazig University. The current president of the university is Professor Hosam-ed-din Mohammad Al-Attar.

* Technical Institute of Nursing.

* Faculty of Specific Education.
* Faculty of Physical Education.
* Faculty of Nursing.
* High Institute of Technology: It was united with Banha University according to the presidential decree number 83 on 3/7/2006.
* Faculty of Computers and Information.

The total number of students in these faculties is about 60,500 students and the staff of professors, assistant professors and teachers in the university is 2,039.

The university presents many services to the local society including most importantly the university hospital that has about 1000 beds in the different departments and medical specialties.

The university hostels in the cities of Banha, Tookh, and Shobra El Khayma provide accommodation for about 2,700 male and female students who live in other governorates.
