Kewet (also transliterated Qawat) is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Semien Shewa Zone, Kewet is bordered on the southwest by Mafud Mezezo Mojana, on the northwest by Mam Midrina Lalo Midir, on the north by Efratana Gidim, and on the east and south by Afar Region. The major town in Kewet is Shewa Robit.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 150,583, of whom 74,219 were males and 76,364 were females; 24,886 or 16.53% of its population are urban dwellers, which is greater than the Zone average of 11.8%. With an estimated area of 842.19 square kilometers, Kewet has an estimated population density of 178.8 people per square kilometer, which is greater than the Zone average of 134.37.
