Mikawa-Anjō Station (三河安城駅 Mikawa-Anjō-eki?) is a train station in Anjō, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on the Tōkaidō Shinkansen and Tōkaidō Main Line.

History

When Tōkaidō Shinkansen opened, the distance between Toyohashi Station and Nagoya Station was the second longest in Tōkaidō Shinkansen. In 1969, the mayors of Okazaki, Toyota, Anjo, Gamagori, Nishio, Hekinan, Isshiki, Kira, Kota, Hazu, Nukata and Otowa submitted the petition of establishing Kokuteikōen-Mikawa Station (国定公園三河駅 Kokuteikōen-Mikawa-eki?) in Kota.

These cities and towns formed the alliance for Mikawa Station (三河駅 Mikawa-eki?). Thereafter, Kota town office recommended Ashinoya near Kōda Station. Okazaki city hall recommended Shōna-chō, Okazaki. And, Anjo city hall recommended Furui-chō near Hekikai-Furui Station, and Nihongi-chō where crosspoint of Tōkaidō Shinkansen and Tōkaidō Main Line. These were elected candidate. The alliance entrusted the decision to Aichi prefectural government. On January 5 1984, prefectural government decided to establish the station in Nihongi, Anjo. The alliance approved the decision of prefectural government. JNR decided to establish Mikawa Station on October 19, Aichi prefecture and Anjo city declared the acceptance on December 18.

The station is started construction work on July 29 1985, opened on March 13 1988.
