Nikolay Anatolyevich Kovalev (Russian: Николай Анатольевич Ковалёв; born 28 October 1986 in Vesyoly, Orenburg) is a Russian sabre fencer.

Kovalev won the bronze medal in the sabre team event at the 2006 World Fencing Championships after beating Hungary in the bronze medal match. He accomplished this with his team mates Alexei Frossine, Stanislav Pozdniakov and Alexey Yakimenko.

He wins the gold in men's saber team to the 2010 World Championships, defeating Italy by 45 to 41 with his team mates Alexey Yakimenko, Artem Zanin and Reshetnikov Veniamin. At the 2011 World Championships he retain the title in men's saber team defeating Belarus in the final.
