Can the Can was a popular single by Suzi Quatro and the name of her debut album in Australia (in other countries, Suzi Quatro was the name of this album).

Written and produced by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, "Can the Can" was the second single by Quatro and her first to reach number one in the UK, spending a single week at the top of the chart in June 1973. It also reached #1 on the Japanese, European and Australian charts in whose market Quatro achieved her most consistent success throughout her career as a recording artist.

It is probably most famous for the refrain: "Make a stand for your man, honey, try to can the can": "Put your man in the can, honey, get him while you can": "Can the can, can the can, if you can, well can the can"

It belatedly became a hit in the U.S. peaking at #56 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1976. [Songfacts [http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=7910 Can the Can by Suzi Quatro] Retrieved on 16 July, 2007]
