Leominster was a local government district in
Englandfrom 1 April 1974to 1 April 1998. Its main town was Leominster.
It was one of two districts in the newly-formed county of
Hereford and Worcesterto cross the traditional border between Herefordshireand Worcestershire, the other being Malvern Hills. It was formed from, in Herefordshire, the municipal boroughof Leominster, the urban districtof Kington, Kington Rural District, Leominster And Wigmore Rural District, Weobley Rural District. The only part to come from Worcestershire was the Tenbury Rural District.
In 1998, the district was abolished, with the Herefordshire parts becoming part of the new unitary districts of Herefordshire; and the Worcestershire parts becoming part of the new Worcestershire district of Malvern Hills.
