Blackburn Rovers Ladies Football Club are an English women's football club affiliated with Blackburn Rovers. In 2006 they won the Northern Championship and thus were promoted to the Women's Premiership, where they play in the 2006-07 season. Blackburn Rovers LFC reached the semi-final of the Women's FA Cup, where they lost 0-1 to Charlton Athletic. Katie Anderton and Kaye Hawke were selected for the England squad at the end of the 2006/7 season. Katie Anderton will spend the summer playing in the USA, for FC Indiana. Kay Hawke signed a contract with Lincoln City LFC in August 07 and Rovers recruited several new players. Natalie Preston was signed from Leeds United Ladies and captained the side in pre-season. Katie Anderton was not included in the England squad for China 07, despite scoring 34 goals during 2006/7 season.
