Bud Cockrell

Bud Cockrell

Bud Cockrell was a bassist and vocalist for the California smooth rock band Pablo Cruise. Cockrell was member of the band at its conception in 1973, but left the band in 1977 before they recorded their most successful album, Worlds Away. He was replaced by former Santana bassist Bruce Day.

Bud had previously been in the band "It's a Beautiful Day."

Bud moved to Monterey Ca in 1993 and played with the band Nickel and a Nail. The band included bassist Greg Frederick, Snail Guitarist Bob O'Neill, Drummer Al Santana, Singer/Guitarist Rand Rueter and Hammond B3 player Danny Abrams who was formally with The Walter Trout Band. The Band were Featured Artists at the 1993 Monterey Blues Festival. Nickel and a Nail were one of Monterey's most popular bands through 1997 when the band folded.
