Subdivisions of Podgorica

Podgorica Municipality consists of "Podgorica City Proper" and two subdivisions called "Urban municipalities" ("Gradske opštine"), Golubovci and Tuzi.

Institution of "Urban Municipality" was adopted in 2006 by "Capital City Law". This law gave Tuzi and Golubovci limited possibilities of self-governing within Podgorica Municipality. An urban municipalty, by current "City Charter", has following bodies:

* President of Urban Municipality

The entire Podgorica Municipality is further divided into 57 "local communities" ("mjesne zajednice"), bodies in which the citizens participate in making decisions about matters of relevance to the community in which they live.

Information on selected communities

Tološi

Tološi is divided between local communities of "Tološi I" and "Tološi II". It is located in the north-western part of Podgorica. It is mostly residential area. Two main streets intersecting Tološi are "Boška Buhe street" (north-south) and "Dalmatinska street" (east-west).

Tološi is known locally for its Crvena Stijena footbal club, as well as for archeological locality of the same name.
